I'm going to direct my efforts toward agencies. I can find one agent smart enough to recognize the value of product placement in adult media, I will have enough work for the whole year.

My fees for contracts

I suppose it's natural to wonder how much I "make" for doing product placement. The contract says nothing about my fees because they are not part of the contract. My fee is in the difference between the two parties contracts. Example; Supplier signs contract to pay $2,000 for his brand to show in Producer's media. Producer's contract says he will be paid $1,500 to show brand. Got it?

I saw a product, which I won't name here, advertising on Facebook. I had talked to the owner of this NYC based product about placement. He mostly wanted to know "how much" I got out of the contracts because, I think, he wanted to cut me out of the equation and go directly to a producer for on screen promotion. This is just one of the pitfalls of having a good idea, right beside people thinking it's a bad idea.

I'm not much of a salesman.

I want to market heavily (cheaply) and find the few bold enough to invest in the contracts I have to offer. Once I have a supplier contract, I think it will be easy enough to interest a producer who wants to get something off the top of their production costs with little effort.

I'm also a pretty good video editor. I kicked out this goofy boys doing a parody one afternoon. It was fun. Sorta like a parody of a parody, just as all these guys use the copyrighted song as a parody. Myspace and Facebook both deleted it, for the song, apparently.

What we need to do is get a couple account representatives at national advertising agencies convinced of the value of product placement in adult media. Ideally, they would recognize great results then pick up the ball and run with it for other brands.

Planned Design offers the "filtering system" for the more mainstream clients who would like to maintain a "clean" paper trail of contracts and payments.

Promoting VS. Selling

I realized I much prefer promoting the idea of Integrating Bold Products into Adult Male Media more than I like selling the idea of Integrating Bold Products into Adult Male Media.

It takes so much mental massaging on both ends of the contract to get people to consider it. Suppliers are reluctant for the obvious reasons, any connection to homosexuality in general being the biggest hurdle. Producers seem reluctant because they operate in such a parallel world where legitimacy (for lack of a better word) is foreign to them, hence the idea of fulfilling an actual legal contract, even if it puts money in their pocket, seems to make them paranoid.

I welcome feedback on this and anything else on my site(s).
